1. Jr. Audubon Field Trip
Take your back-yard birdwatching to the next level! Enjoy a virtual, family-friendly tour of the house and outbuildings and learn about famous ornithologist John James Audubon’s visit to Locust Grove. Then, enjoy a themed activity tied to what you learn on your tour. Topics discussed during the activity will be: basic bird identification, bird anatomy, the life cycle of a bird, and the basics of amateur bird watching! Recommended for ages 6 & up!
2. Jr. Historian Field Trip
Become a Junior Historian! Enjoy a virtual, family-friendly tour of the house and outbuildings and learn about what life was like in the late 18th century and early 19th century in Kentucky! Then, learn how to make your own berry ink and write with a quill. Topics discussed during the activity will be: early 19th-century life, communication & letter writing, letter etiquette, & the cursive alphabet. Recommended for ages 6 & up!
Each field trip is $20/child, $15/adult and must be booked at least 1 business week in advance. Activity kits can be mailed or picked up at Locust Grove.
